Blood Drives at Western Washington University

Did you know that the Western campus community donates approximately 1,000 pints of blood each academic year?!

Prevention and Wellness Services partners with Bloodworks Northwest to host on-campus blood drives each quarter.  Students, staff and faculty who meet eligibility criteria are encouraged to donate. Dates and locations are posted below as well as on signs and sandwich boards across campus during the weeks of scheduled blood drives. 

Winter Quarter 2018 On-Campus Blood Drive Dates:

  • January 9-11
  • January 16

Who Can Donate?

Anyone who:

  • is in good health
  • is at least 18 years old
  • weighs at least 110 lbs

may donate whole blood every 56 days.

How Long Does It Take?

The whole process takes about 1 hour. The blood drawing takes about 8-10 minutes. No appointment is needed.

How Do I Prepare?

Be sure to eat a hearty meal and drink plenty of water before you donate blood. Photo ID is required.
